Do you ever find yourself stressed or maybe a little tense during your dental cleaning? If so, you need a distraction. The more distracted you are, the more relaxed you can feel. The more relaxed you feel, the better dental experience you can have. So, our dentist, Dr. Aaron Moore, would like to help you distract yourself during your appointment. You can do so by doing the following things:

-Bring your CD player, iPod, iPhone, or other music-playing devices to your appointment. Listen to music as your hygienist and dentist clean and examine your teeth and gums. If you bring calming music, it can keep your heart rate slow and steady. If you bring music you’ve never heard before, the new lyrics can take your mind off the treatment.

-Focus on your breathing. If you have breathing techniques, that’s even better. Focusing on your breathing can distract you and can also help you feel calm and relaxed.

-Bring a friend or family member to distract you during your appointment. Have them tell you stories or details about their life happenings to keep your mind off the treatment.

-Talk to your hygienist. You can even learn something new about your oral health and smile! Ask them questions during your treatment. They can teach you all you need to know while they’re working on your teeth and gums!
